Episode 33 - Biaxial Fabric Production!
Episode 33 - Biaxial Fabric Production!
Established in 1927, the Angeloni Group leads in manufacturing and distributing composite raw materials, focusing primarily on high-tech fiber fabrics, notably carbon fibers. Their diverse portfolio encompasses cutting-edge materials, serving customers globally with technology-driven solutions.
The Angeloni Group, under its holding company Flex Composite Group (FCG), also controls Selcom Srl - Multiaxial Technology in its composites division.
This footage showcases the creation of a biaxial fabric with CSM (Chopped Strand Mat) using 'E' glass fiber at one of Selcom's facilities. Layers of fibers set at different angles (approximately -/+ 45°) are interlaced with textured polyester yarn. These fabrics can be treated with dry thermoplastic powders (Powder Coating) for RTM processes or epoxy hot-melt adhesives for marine applications involving resin infusion. The Non Crimp Fabrics (NCFs) range in glass fiber weight from 200 g/m² to 3000 g/m².
