Advice for using the Paris Métro during JEC World

I'm new to navigating the Paris Métro and could use some tips! Any advice on purchasing tickets, finding the best routes from the conference area to the city, and any other helpful pointers would be greatly appreciated. Yes, I'm sure I could Google this, but I'd rather ask those who are familiar with it so I can get more of a local experience. :) Thank you in advance!

The Metro / trains are in general pretty safe, I agree with Yannick about valuables though. Make sure your phone, wallet, purse are all in places where you have good control of them and not somewhere easy for pick pockets. The same care should be taken in most cities, so its not just Paris!

Yea the motorbike pinion seat sounds crazy . Do they give you a helmet or just a fast seat

@Ala I did some research on it and yes, they provide a helmet. They can fit a small suitcase on the back too!

Hi Jenny, I lived in Paris for 22 years. > Regarding tickets, they will soon disapear. Get a Pass Navigo (credit card format) and (re)charge it with the itinaries you need to buy. Beware that the Parc des Expositions where JEC World takes place is not in Paris downtown. It is a different zone and cost an additional fee. In general, take the RER B from downtown to JEC World > If you are in a rush to go from JEC World to Paris (and vice-versa), try a moto-taxi. These motorbike drivers/pilots will ride you through the traffic jams. Not for the faint-hearted! > As usual in bigger cities, avoid exhibiting any valuable items and put your electronic devices in pockets difficult to reach (not in the back pocket of your jeans! Enjoy the unique flair of Paris :-)
