Hi I'm Jenny, community manager with Modulus. I've never been to JEC World before and am excited to attend. For those of you who have been before, can you share some tips and tricks for getting the most out of the event?
Hi Jenny, definitely the shoes tip, and if you're going to @Do@ paris pick the weekend before not the one after - you'll have no legs and no voice. I'm there all 3 days - not to exhibit just making supply chain contacts and looking out for new things. I think I've been to all but 2 or 3 shows since about 1994? My first 2 were at LaDefence before it moved to the Expo at Porte de Versaille which was in my view more fun than the current Expo by the airport. Hope you can make it to the UK stand for a meet and greet, and I'll introduce you to the some of the ladies who make UK composites tick.
@NKeen You are a dedicated attendee, Nigel. I am taking all of your advice seriously - thank you! I actually am staying after (oops, guess I'll not be able to talk haha) and will actually be in London for the first time ever the following week. Would love to make some connections!
@jennydempsey couple of points I would recommend for you:
1, Shoes - don’t wear new shoes. Make sure your shoes are broken in and maybe have more than one pair, lots of walking around.
2, Plan your meetings - big show and scooting from one hall to the other will waste a lot of time and add to your step count.
3, Make time for the meetings - it takes time to find people and walk around the place. Don’t make back to back meetings as you will miss opportunities to meet and to talk to people about stuff you see when moving around the show.
4, Visit the pods and other smaller areas, sometime you find some great information or examples in these areas.
Enjoy the show, longs days, long evenings, but an enjoyable event.
@IainMontgomery Legit good advice here, Iain, especially about the shoes. I can't even imagine having uncomfy shoes at an event like this. Thank you for your insights here!
Will you be at the event too??
I would recommend setting up meeting earlier and not more than 20 in a day. Great place to see all innovative ideas, so carrying a camera and a mic to take live discussion is awesome place to create live content.
Wish you an awesome show
@PravinLuthada I would have never thought about scheduling a follow up video meeting before the end of the meeting. Great call out, Pravin. Thank you!
Side note: will you be there? If so, would love to connect!
Have a good visit, I don't think I will make it there this year, but my advice is if there is a specific person / or company you would like to meet, it is generally worth booking a meeting time as lots of people run out of time.
@jennydempsey I would start about a month in advance, depending if I have a contact to meet or just trying to connect with a company. Maybe meet another time!
